Shoot the Image - ‘Loveless’ Music Video
So excited to finally release this video after spending so much time shooting and editing over the last month! This is the first video we’ve produced and shot on our own. It was definitely a learning experience! Next up is the ‘Reykjavik’ zombie video!
Shoot the Image - Toronto band Skinny Bitches confirmed for Rivoli show
One of our favourite bands Skinny Bitches are confirmed to play for the show this fall at the Rivoli on Oct. 5th, 2013.
Rick Temporao (Skinny Bitches) and Simeon Ross (Shoot the Image) have worked on several video/film projects together including music videos, a horror film, and a ton of live footage. Sim was asked to be a part of the Skinny Bitches video for ‘Gunsmoke’. Here he is playing the angry FBI agent ‘Brock Stone’!
Shoot the Image - Video Release Party - The Garrison
A new Video Relase Party has been booked at The Garrison for August. 3rd! We will be screening a video for ‘Vagabond’. Details TBA! Facebook Invite - https://www.facebook.com/events/475894975811817/
The plan is to release ‘Loveless’, ‘Reykjavik’, ‘Fortified’, and ‘Crane’ online leading up to this event! We’re sad the Mod Club video release party (for ‘Loveless’ & ’Reykjavik’) was cancelled but super excited for this new night in August!
Shoot the Image - ‘Reykjavik’ Music Video
Last summer we originally shot a zombie video for the song ‘Fortified’. We ran into massive editing problems and were facing multiple re-shoots etc. Sim just finished the main edit using that footage for the song ‘Rekyjavik’ instead and it’s works like a charm! Excited to shoot green screen pick ups this week and then it’s a wrap!
SHOOT THE IMAGE - Rehearsals and Recording
It’s definitely been an interesting time for us since starting this band. Writing, recording the album with Boz Boorer in Portugal (2010), mixing, mastering, and playing shows in 2011 was productive although we started to lose momentum towards the end of the year. Frustration and the enormous cost of being an indie band was taking it’s toll. Also, we (Erin & Sim) broke up as a couple after being together for four years. 2012 was basically a write off with the exception of signing to Aporia Records. Well, we’re over the break up and excited to be recording, rehearsing, shooting videos, and basically becoming a band again! Lots of good news coming soon! Until then…
Shoot the Image - Rehearsals
Sim & I started our new schedule of rehearsing three times a week. It was rough around the edges for the first practice but we had a blast! Prepping for private Aporia Records industry party this Saturday by learning how to play four Shoot the Image songs using only an acoustic guitar. Uh oh. :D
Shoot the Image at Aporia Records & other things…
It was a busy band day! The data from our broken hard drive is 100% recoverable which is GREAT news! This means we’ll have the ‘Loveless’ video wrapped up by the end of the week-end! Had a quick meeting at the Aporia Records office before having a late lunch/band meeting on Ossington. Our video production company Motionlight Films is now officially registered & off the ground! Love days like this! — inToronto.
